Mitchell Industrial offers a three year warranty because we do a
complete rebuild of your ball screw,
not just a reload. Ever notice how a brand new ball screw will last
years and some rebuilds only last
a few months? That's because a new ball screw is precision ground to the
nut (same diameter grooves)
and the steel balls are precision lapped to fit. When we do a ball screw
repair, we are restoring it to
new condition. The screw and nut are ground within .0002 of each other
and grade 25
steel balls are precision
lapped to fit. The end result is a ball screw repair that's as good as
new with a 36 month in use warranty. Other ball screw rebuild companies
claim the same level of quality, yet the warranty is less then half.

Typical ball screw repair: |
1: Check the load of the nut at each end of the screw & in
the center locating any trouble spots
2: Complete disassembly & cleaning for inspection and record
all sizes & depths of ball grooves
3: Grinding (ball grooves) of your screw to a T.I.R. of
.0002 per linear foot is reached
4: ID grind nut (ball grooves) to the same size & tolerance
as the screw
5: Replace / repair return tubes, wipers internal returns as
needed
6: Grind & lap a new set of balls to match the newly ground
ball grooves on your screw/nut
7: Assemble all parts with lapping compound and run at high
speed for 30 to 45 minutes, if there are any tight spots or
problem areas, both screw & nut will be reground & lapped to
size
8: Disassemble screw & nut for cleaning / inspection and
make adjustments as needed
9: Final assembly to original preload, replacing all wipers
& seals, inspection, testing & crating
* If bearing journals or ends are worn, we can grind, chrome
plate & grind back to original size. |

to you (or another repair facility) free of any charges and we'll even pay
for all shipping. We'll only charge you if you agree with our pricing
and give us authorization to perform the necessary repairs.

It's hard to believe and there is only one way we can prove it to
you. Send us your scrap screw. Send us something that you were going
to throw away and allow us to prove our abilities. Some of our
competitors are using similar photos, but if you take a closer look,
it's just a ball screw covered in heavy grease & oil. This is an
actual rebuild for an aerospace facility where the screw was left

milling, boring, spline & gear cutting,
OD & ID grinding, centerless grinding, cylindrical grinding, thread
grinding, welding, press work and metal spray/thermal spray/metalizing. Chrome plating
is also available (sub contracted). We also offer mechanical services with
disassembly and assembly of any type of machinery & equipment.

offer nationwide pick up & delivery, estimates are always free of
charge.

Loss of clamping force or accuracy? We offer complete rebuilding of
all types of chucks and some
exchanges are in stock for Rohm, SMW/Autoblok, Cushman, Kitagawa, etc.
If we don't have the
exchange in stock, we can repair your chuck in a matter of days not
weeks. All chuck repair is backed
by an industry leading 36 month warranty. We repair all air, hydraulic &
manual chucks.
Lead screw manufacturing. Custom nut applications. Any size, any
configuration.
We can manufacture lead screws in any size from 1" long to 40' long,
1/4" diameter to 6" diameter,single start to 8 start. We can duplicate any nut or custom machine
to fit your needs. There isn't
a lead screw we can't manufacture. Screws made to sample or print
delivered in days not weeks. All lead screws manufactured by Mitchell
Industrial carry a 36 month in use
warranty.
